How To Connect Bluetooth Devices To A Mazda Car
To use the hands-free option and Bluetooth audio with your vehicle, you must pair a Bluetooth equipped device to it. The system will automatically identify the device once it is paired. If several devices have already been paired, the Bluetooth unit will link to the most recent. If, more than once, you pair a particular device, on the device itself, delete “Mazda” before you proceed. On your device, do a Bluetooth search and, to the newly detected “Mazda,” pair up the device. Confused?

How Many Devices?
With your vehicle, you can pair up to seven devices including hands-free mobile phones and Bluetooth audio devices. If, in the cell phone, Bluetooth is always turned on automatically, the device will connect to the vehicle as soon as you turn the ignition.
Adding or Pairing a Device
- From the Home screen, select Settings, then Devices
- Choose Bluetooth and turn On settings
- The Add New Device option can now be selected
- With Bluetooth turned on, on your device, do a peripheral device or Bluetooth device search. From the list, select Mazda.
All email messages, MMS, SMS, email/SMS functions, and contact information for the device will automatically download if the features of your cell phone are compatible with the system in your Mazda. (It may require a download permission operation. These messages should always be allowed and accepted.)
Disconnecting or Connecting a Paired Device
- From the Home screen, select Settings, then Devices
- Choose Bluetooth and turn On settings
Next, choose device #:
- To connect device as Bluetooth audio and hands-free, choose Phone and Audio (to disconnect, press again).
- To connect device as only hands-free, select Phone Only (to disconnect, press again).
- To connect device as Bluetooth audio, select Audio Only (to disconnect, press again).
