Mazda Tops EPA Fuel-efficiency Rankings for Fifth Year in a Row

Mazda registered a high fuel-efficiency of 29.6 mpg or miles per gallon. This figure is 0.4 mpg higher than last year. Clearly, Mazda has not only been sitting on its previous achievement but also making technological advances to better their vehicles. Plus, in a country where most people only use pickup trucks, this is a great achievement for Mazda since they do not have any pickup trucks in their product line.

The automobile manufacturers that closely followed Mazda on this list were Hyundai, Honda, Subaru, and Nissan. Hyundai vehicles registered a manufacturer adjusted fuel-efficiency of 28.8 mpg whereas Honda registered 28.2 mpg, Subaru registered 28.1 mpg, and Nissan offered 27.9 mpg. One of the biggest reasons for this recent achievement has been attributed to Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology. This technology has heavily influenced the way the engines and transmissions of its vehicles work thus making it more fuel-efficient than ever before.
